Chapter 9: Children's Crumbs
Previous Chapter: Washing of pots and cups
After that, Jesus took His disciples to the region of Tire and Sidon, which it about 2 to 3 days walk from Galilee, and Jesus came all the way from Galilee for one reason, to heal the daughter of one Canaanite woman, in fact He performed that miracle alone in that entire trip, but more than that He want to deliver the very important message "Children's Crumbs" - 24.From there He arose and went to the region of Tyre and Sidon. And He entered a house and wanted no one to know it, but He could not be hidden. 25.For a woman whose young daughter had an unclean spirit heard about Him, and she came and fell at His feet. 26.The woman was a Greek, a Syro-Phoenician by birth, and she kept asking Him to cast the demon out of her daughter. 27.But Jesus said to her, Let the children be filled first, for it is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs - Mark 7:24-27
Here the plural word "Children" is pointing to the Son of God, because Jesus Christ is a God of Trinity, as He possess the Spirit of Father, and the Holy Spirit and all three of them suffered for our salvation, and the Heavenly bread is belongs to Him, and no one else is worthy for the Heavenly bread, even to imagine it, Death has no control over him, Holiness belongs to Him, the anointing of Holy Spirit belongs to Him, He alone can see the Father, and even the Power of Resurrection belongs to Him.
And this bread crumb was spilled when Jesus Christ was broken at the cross of calvary, only Humble would be able grab that crumb, and even today the salvation is not working for pride heart, and more importantly the heaven cannot answer our prayers, unless we humble ourself and claim that crumb [blood that Jesus Christ shed and His body broken for our sin], to teach this Gospel truth, Jesus remained in silent and never responded to the Canaanite woman's cry, and at some point of time, the disciples themself got irritated as she continue calling to heal her daughter - 21.Then Jesus went out from there and departed to the region of Tyre and Sidon. 22.And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed. 23.But He answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, “Send her away, for she cries out after us - Matthew 15:21-23
In this world, many would call the God of Heaven for their need, but heaven cannot answer it unless we chose the right path, not only for this worldly blessing, but for the eternal life.
And finally she chose the right path, and claimed Christ blood that he will shed on the Cross and said "even the little dogs under the table eat from the children’s crumbs", the moment she humbled herself and claimed the blood of Jesus [Children's Crumbs], the heaven responded her cry and healed her daughter - 28.And she answered and said to Him, Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs under the table eat from the children’s crumbs. 29.Then He said to her, “For this saying go your way; the demon has gone out of your daughter.” 30.And when she had come to her house, she found the demon gone out, and her daughter lying on the bed. 31.Again, departing from the region of Tyre and Sidon, He came through the midst of the region of Decapolis to the Sea of Galilee - Mark 7:24-31
