Previous Chapter: Behold your Mother
When the Old Testament prophet Zechariah said "Rejoice, the king is coming on a donkey and on a colt", he indirectly telling that both our Heavenly Father and Son Jesus Christ has to suffer for our salvation - Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey - Zechariah 9:9
That's why the disciples, brought the donkey and its colt and spread their garments, so that both our Heavenly Father and Son Jesus Christ can travel towards the cross for our salvation - 6.The disciples went and did as Jesus had directed them. 7.They brought the donkey and the colt and put on them their cloaks, and he sat on them - Matthew 21:6-7
But the people only saw Jesus Christ riding on the colt, but Christ knew very well who is coming with him, that is none other than the God of Heaven itself - And they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks on it, and he sat on it - Mark 11:7
And also the Bible Says, since Christ was doing what pleased to the Father, the Father never left him alone, so its an another evidence that Father must be travelling with Christ - 28.So Jesus said to them, When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he, and that I do nothing on my own authority, but speak just as the Father taught me. 29.And he who sent me is with me. He has not left me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to him - John 8:28-29
