Trinity of Jesus Christ
Chapter 14: Ezekiel's Explanation
Previous Chapter: Elijah's Explanation
Our Savior, Lord Jesus Christ, is God of Trinity, In the past chapters, we have explored the scriptural evidences that tells that when the Son [Son of the Word] was manifested in the flesh, the Son of the Father and the Son of the Holy Spirit also dwelt within Him, and in this chapter, will see how the prophet Ezekiel illustrates the Trinity of Jesus Christ.
The visions in the first chapter of Ezekiel describe the Trinity of our Lord Jesus Christ, that was the reason it begins with three things: a whirlwind, a great cloud, and fire - Then I looked, and behold, a whirlwind was coming out of the north, a great cloud with raging fire engulfing itself; and brightness was all around it and radiating out of its midst like the color of amber, out of the midst of the fire - Ezekiel 1:4
And then, the Book of Ezekiel talks about the crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all our punishment will suppose to be the punishment of him, and then we will be called as God's own people, that because He bore all our punishment upon himself - 9.And if the prophet is induced to speak anything, I the Lord have induced that prophet, and I will stretch out My hand against him and destroy him from among My people Israel. 10.And they shall bear their iniquity; the punishment of the prophet shall be the same as the punishment of the one who inquired, 11.that the house of Israel may no longer stray from Me, nor be profaned anymore with all their transgressions, but that they may be My people and I may be their God,” says the Lord God - Ezekiel 14:9-11
The prophet Ezekiel, who prophesied about our salvation, and said our salvation must come through the suffering of our Lord Jesus Christ, also explained the trinity of our Lord Jesus Christ, for that, first he took three noble characters from Bible, that is Noah, Daniel, and Job, and said these three cannot save their own children when the wrath of God poured out on this earth - 12.The word of the Lord came again to me, saying: 13.“Son of man, when a land sins against Me by persistent unfaithfulness, I will stretch out My hand against it; I will cut off its supply of bread, send famine on it, and cut off man and beast from it. 14.Even if these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they would deliver only themselves by their righteousness,” says the Lord God. 15.“If I cause wild beasts to pass through the land, and they empty it, and make it so desolate that no man may pass through because of the beasts, 16.even though these three men were in it, as I live,” says the Lord God, “they would deliver neither sons nor daughters; only they would be delivered, and the land would be desolate. 17.“Or if I bring a sword on that land, and say, ‘Sword, go through the land,’ and I cut off man and beast from it, 18.even though these three men were in it, as I live,” says the Lord God, “they would deliver neither sons nor daughters, but only they themselves would be delivered. 19.“Or if I send a pestilence into that land and pour out My fury on it in blood, and cut off from it man and beast, 20.even though Noah, Daniel, and Job were in it, as I live,” says the Lord God, “they would deliver neither son nor daughter; they would deliver only themselves by their righteousness - Ezekiel 14:12-20
And then prophet Ezekiel said, these three Noah, Daniel, and Job cannot save their children, but Christ can save us from the eternal hell - 21.For thus says the Lord God: “How much more it shall be when I send My four severe judgments on Jerusalem—the sword and famine and wild beasts and pestilence—to cut off man and beast from it? 22.Yet behold, there shall be left in it a remnant who will be brought out, both sons and daughters; surely they will come out to you, and you will see their ways and their doings. Then you will be comforted concerning the disaster that I have brought upon Jerusalem, all that I have brought upon it. 23.And they will comfort you, when you see their ways and their doings; and you shall know that I have done nothing without cause that I have done in it,” says the Lord God - Ezekiel 14:21-23
Why prophet Ezekiel has to pick three noble characters and have to compare with Jesus Christ, this is to revel the secret that Jesus Christ is not a single person [Word alone], but God of Trinity, in him dwelt the spirit of Father and Holy Spirit.
Furthermore, the Lord has alluded to His corrective judgment by indicating that our Savior, Jesus Christ, will appear as a stormy wind, a deluge of rain, and a great hailstones to destroy false prophets - 6.They have seen false visions and lying divinations. They say, ‘Declares the Lord,’ when the Lord has not sent them, and yet they expect him to fulfill their word. 7.Have you not seen a false vision and uttered a lying divination, whenever you have said, ‘Declares the Lord,’ although I have not spoken?” 8.Therefore thus says the Lord God: “Because you have uttered falsehood and seen lying visions, therefore behold, I am against you, declares the Lord God. 9.My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and who give lying divinations. They shall not be in the council of my people, nor be enrolled in the register of the house of Israel, nor shall they enter the land of Israel. And you shall know that I am the Lord God. 10.Precisely because they have misled my people, saying, ‘Peace,’ when there is no peace, and because, when the people build a wall, these prophets smear it with whitewash, 11.say to those who smear it with whitewash that it shall fall! There will be a deluge of rain, and you, O great hailstones, will fall, and a stormy wind break out. 12.And when the wall falls, will it not be said to you, ‘Where is the coating with which you smeared it?’ 13.Therefore thus says the Lord God: I will make a stormy wind break out in my wrath, and there shall be a deluge of rain in my anger, and great hailstones in wrath to make a full end. 14.And I will break down the wall that you have smeared with whitewash, and bring it down to the ground, so that its foundation will be laid bare. When it falls, you shall perish in the midst of it, and you shall know that I am the Lord - Ezekiel 13:6-14
