Previous Chapter: Introduction
The life of Moses reveal the mysteries concerning Jesus Christ, that was the reason God said this to Moses - I will raise up for them a prophet like you - Deuteronomy 18:18
This Moses had two mothers, one is daughter of Levi and the another one is daughter of Pharaoh, the daughter of Levi is the one who gave birth to Moses and left him in a basket, and the daughter of Pharaoh found the baby Moses in the basket and raised him - 1.And a man of the house of Levi went and took as wife a daughter of Levi. 2.So the woman conceived and bore a son. And when she saw that he was a beautiful child, she hid him three months. 3.But when she could no longer hide him, she took an ark of bulrushes for him, daubed it with asphalt and pitch, put the child in it, and laid it in the reeds by the river’s bank. 4.And his sister stood afar off, to know what would be done to him. 5.Then the daughter of Pharaoh came down to bathe at the river. And her maidens walked along the riverside; and when she saw the ark among the reeds, she sent her maid to get it. 6.And when she opened it, she saw the child, and behold, the baby wept. So she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews’ children - Exodus 2:1-6
In the same way, Christ also had two mothers, one is our "Heavenly Father" who kept his only begotten son in the Mary's womb, and then "Mary" delivered Christ from her womb and raised it.
The basket of bulrushes in which the baby Moses was laid is literally referring to the womb of Mary, that was the reason, like woman giving birth to the baby, when the daughter of Pharaoh opened the basket, the Bible says the "baby wept".
When the daughter of Pharaoh saw the baby Moses, she said this is Hebrew Children, the word Hebrew was referring to God of Trinity [Mamre, Eshcol, Aner] - Then one who had escaped came and told Abram the Hebrew, for he dwelt by the terebinth trees of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol and brother of Aner; and they were allies with Abram - Genesis 14:13
When Moses grownup, he did not like to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter - 24.By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, 25.choosing rather to be mistreated with the people of God than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. 26.He considered the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking to the reward - Hebrews 11:24-26
If some body called Moses as son of Pharaoh's daughter, it's great lie to Moses, because his is not the son of Pharaoh's daughter, the same thing happened in Christ also, when people said he is Son of Mary, he felt very dishonored - 3.Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us? So they were offended at Him. 4.But Jesus said to them, A prophet is not without honor except in his own country, among his own relatives, and in his own house - Mark 6:3-4
Moses did not hate Pharaoh's daughter who raised him, but he refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, and the same fulfilled in the Christ life as well, Christ loved Mary, but refused to be called the son of Mary.
Though Moses had two mothers, when the Bible says he was nursed by his mother, obviously its pointing to "daughter of Levi" who gave birth to Moses, not the one who took him out of the basket - 7.Then his sister said to Pharaoh’s daughter, Shall I go and call a nurse for you from the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for you? 8.And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, Go. So the maiden went and called the child’s mother. 9.Then Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, Take this child away and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wages. So the woman took the child and nursed him. 10.And the child grew, and she brought him to Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. So she called his name Moses, saying, Because I drew him out of the water - Exodus 2:7-10
In the same way, when Bible says "Mother of Jesus" it's actually pointing to our Heavenly Father, not Mary. the King Solomon also called Heavenly Father as Mother of Jesus - My dove, my perfect one, Is the only one, The only one of her mother, The favorite of the one who bore her. The daughters saw her And called her blessed, The queens and the concubines, And they praised her - Song of Solomon 6:9
