Trinity of Jesus Christ
Chapter 16: Altar, Temple, and Throne
Previous Chapter: Law or the Prophets
In previous chapter, we saw the suffering of our Trinity God, when Jesus Christ [Son of the Word] suffered on the cross for our salvation, the Son of the Father and the Son of the Holy Spirit who dwelt within Jesus Christ also experienced the same humility and suffering, and in this chapter, and Bible tells that the God of Heaven who sent his Son for our salvation also experienced the same suffering, will explore them in this chapter.
Once Jesus Christ asked two questions considering "sanctifying temple" and "sanctifying altar" - 16.Woe to you, blind guides, who say, If anyone swears by the temple, it is nothing, but if anyone swears by the gold of the temple, he is bound by his oath. 17.You blind fools! For which is greater, the gold or the temple that has made the gold sacred? 18.And you say, ‘If anyone swears by the altar, it is nothing, but if anyone swears by the gift that is on the altar, he is bound by his oath.’ 19.You blind men! For which is greater, the gift or the altar that makes the gift sacred? - Matthew 23:16-19
Why did Jesus speak about "sanctifying temple" and the "sanctifying altar"? in the previous chapter, we saw the meaning of two cherubim which kept on top of the Ark of the Covenant, they are representing God of Heaven, and the Son of God, like that the "sanctifying temple" and the "sanctifying altar" also metaphorically referring to God of Heaven, and the Son of God, because sanctification belongs to God, but the temple authorities diverted the people from God who would sanctify to the worldly things like gold and gift.
And also in the previous chapter, we say prophet Isaiah calling the cherubim as seraphim with six wings [three pairs], because six wings [three pairs] reveling the Trinity of our Heavenly Father, and also the Trinity of Jesus Christ, and here Christ spoke about the Trinity of Heavenly father and the Trinity of Son Jesus Christ, and stated that when the Son of the Word, the Son of the Father and the Son of the Holy Spirit suffer for us on the cross, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit who are in heaven also endure the same agony, and said, whoever swears by the Son of the Word [by the altar] swears by the Word Himself, meaning that whoever crucifies the Son of the Word crucifies the Word Himself. He also said that whoever swears by the Son of the Father [by the temple] swears by the Father, and whoever swears by the Son of the Holy Spirit [by God’s throne in heaven] swears by the Holy Spirit - 20.So whoever swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it. 21.And whoever swears by the temple swears by it and by him who dwells in it. 22.And whoever swears by heaven swears by the throne of God and by him who sits upon it - Matthew 23:20-22
Thus, since the "Altar" signifies the Son of the Word made flesh, the "Temple" signifies the Son of the Father, and "God's throne in heaven" signifies the Son of the Holy Spirit, the Devil first tempted the Son of the Word made flesh—He who appeared as the Altar—using food, a matter pertaining to the body - 1.Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2.And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. 3.Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread. 4.But He answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God - Matthew 4:1-4
Next, he placed the Son of the Father [He who was revealed as the Temple] on the pinnacle of the temple and tested Him - 5.Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, 6.and said to Him, If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: He shall give His angels charge over you, and, In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone. 7.Jesus said to him, It is written again, You shall not tempt the Lord your God - Matthew 4:5-7
Next, he took the Son of the Holy Spirit—He who was revealed in heaven as the throne of God—up to a very high mountain and tempted Him - 8.Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9.And he said to Him, All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me. 10.Then Jesus said to him, Away with you, Satan! For it is written, You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve. 11.Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him - Matthew 4:8-11
Thus, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, exists as the Son of the Word [Altar], the Son of the Father [Temple], and the Son of the Holy Spirit [Throne]; it was precisely because the prophet Isaiah received these three—that is, the experiences of the Throne, the Temple, and the Altar—that he was powerfully used by God - 1.In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train[a] of his robe filled the temple. 2.Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3.And one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!” 4.And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke. 5.And I said: Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts! 6.Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a burning coal that he had taken with tongs from the altar. 7.And he touched my mouth and said: Behold, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away, and your sin atoned for - Isaiah 6:1-7
