Chapter 7: Moses Explanation

Our Savior, Jesus Christ, is not merely the Son of the Word; the Son of the Father and the Son of the Holy Spirit also dwelt within Him—thus, our Lord itself a God of Trinity. However, But Jesus Christ was proclaimed as the second person of the Trinity in many passages, the indwelling of the Father and the Holy Spirit within Him was revealed only through parables and indirect references, in this chapter, will explore the reasons why the indwelling of the Father and the Holy Spirit told in parable.

The Lord, who appeared to Moses in the burning bush, demonstrated through three signs how the Triune God, comprising the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit, would act to redeem us from the bondage of sin. In the first sign, Moses cast his staff[Son of Word] upon the ground, where it transformed into a serpent, he then picked it up, and it reverted to a staff, this signifies the Son (the Word) coming to earth from on high as Jesus Christ, tasting death, and rising again - 1.Then Moses answered, But behold, they will not believe me or listen to my voice, for they will say, The Lord did not appear to you. 2.The Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?” He said, “A staff.” 3.And he said, “Throw it on the ground.” So he threw it on the ground, and it became a serpent, and Moses ran from it. 4.But the Lord said to Moses, “Put out your hand and catch it by the tail”, so he put out his hand and caught it, and it became a staff in his hand. 5.that they may believe that the Lord, the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you - Exodus 4:1-5


In the second sign, when Moses placed his hand[Son of the Father] into his bosom, it became afflicted with leprosy, yet, when he placed it back into his bosom, it returned to its normal state, this signifies the Son of the Father suffering unseen by the eyes of the world, specifically, the Son of the Father within Jesus Christ tasting death and rising again. Otherwise, instead of turning his hand into leprosy, it could have turned it into gold to astonish everyone - 6.Again, the Lord said to him, “Put your hand inside your cloak.” And he put his hand inside his cloak, and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous like snow. 7.Then God said, “Put your hand back inside your cloak.” So he put his hand back inside his cloak, and when he took it out, behold, it was restored like the rest of his flesh. 8.“If they will not believe you,” God said, “or listen to the first sign, they may believe the latter sign - Exodus 4:6-8

How Moses stood before the Pharaoh with his staff, Jacob started his Journey just with staff as an empty handed man - 10.I am not worthy of the least of all the deeds of steadfast love and all the faithfulness that you have shown to your servant, for with only my staff I crossed this Jordan, and now I have become two camps - Genesis 32:10

This Jacob had staff in his hand which was told openly, but the same Jacob also had one more thing that was Oil that was told very secretly because the oil is representing the Holy Spirit - 18.So early in the morning Jacob took the stone that he had put under his head and set it up for a pillar and poured oil on the top of it. 19.He called the name of that place Bethel, but the name of the city was Luz at the first - Genesis 28:18-19 

The Lord spoke to Moses, explaining that when one wholeheartedly accepts the first two signs, the Holy Spirit dwells within; however, to those who do not accept them, He will reveal Himself as a God of wrath - 9.If they will not believe even these two signs or listen to your voice, you shall take some water from the Nile and pour it on the dry ground, and the water that you shall take from the Nile will become blood on the dry ground - Exodus 4:9

When Moses met the people of Israel with his brother Aaron, he performed all three signs; this signifies accepting Jesus Christ as our personal Savior, gives us forgiveness, grace of the Father, and fullness of the Holy Spirit - 28.And Moses told Aaron all the words of the Lord with which he had sent him to speak, and all the signs that he had commanded him to do. 29.Then Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the people of Israel. 30.Aaron spoke all the words that the Lord had spoken to Moses and did the signs in the sight of the people. 31.And the people believed; and when they heard that the Lord had visited the people of Israel and that he had seen their affliction, they bowed their heads and worshiped - Exodus 4:28-31

Although Moses possessed three such signs before Israelites, the Lord permitted him to show only one sign before Pharaoh, that is casting of his staff upon the ground and picking it up again, so everyone in Egypt knows about the first miracle, but they never seen the miracle that is Moses hand turning into leprosy. this is the secret of cross, almost everyone in this world know the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, if we ask the story behind the cross they can explain very well, but they will not accept Jesus as God [the second sign], so obviously the third sign will be missing in their life - 8.Then the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, 9.“When Pharaoh says to you, ‘Prove yourselves by working a miracle,’ then you shall say to Aaron, ‘Take your staff and cast it down before Pharaoh, that it may become a serpent.’” 10.So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did just as the Lord commanded. Aaron cast down his staff before Pharaoh and his servants, and it became a serpent. 11.Then Pharaoh summoned the wise men and the sorcerers, and they, the magicians of Egypt, also did the same by their secret arts. 12.For each man cast down his staff, and they became serpents. But Aaron's staff swallowed up their staffs. 13.Still Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he would not listen to them, as the Lord had said - Exodus 7:8-13

During the days of Jesus Christ's ministry, the Pharisees and scribes who resembled Pharaoh, demanded a sign from Jesus, just as Pharaoh had once demanded a sign from Moses, so how Moses showed only one sign though God gave him three signs, Jesus stated that He would give only one sign: that of the prophet Jonah [Sign of staff turning into serpent and became a staff again], which referring to the sign of Jesus Christ dying on the cross and rising again on the third day - 1.And the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and to test him they asked him to show them a sign from heaven. 2.He answered them, “When it is evening, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.’ 3.And in the morning, ‘It will be stormy today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times. 4.An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah.” So he left them and departed - Matthew 16:1-4

Jesus Christ compared the sign of the prophet Jonah to the sun, noting that the red sky appearing at sunset heralds His death, while the rising of that same sun proclaims His resurrection; He declared that this was the only sign He would give. It is because the Lord ordained this that many today are aware of Jesus Christ’s suffering on the cross and His resurrection; yet, they are unable to accept Jesus Christ as God or receive the anointing of the Holy Spirit - 

Furthermore, the Lord pointed out that just as the crimson glow at sunset—which causes the sea waters to surge beyond their boundaries and cleanse the land—symbolizes how the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us, so too does the crimson glow and haze at sunrise—which stirs the winds and brings rain—signify that through Jesus Christ, we can receive the grace of the Father and the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Moses, Aaron, and Hur

The battle the Israelites fought against the Amalekites mirrored the spiritual warfare waged against the hosts of evil spirits in the heavenly realms and taught that victory in such a conflict can be achieved only through faith; consequently, those who doubted—questioning how they could inherit the promised blessings without placing their trust in the Lord—were defeated in that battle. - 36.And the men whom Moses sent to spy out the land, who returned and made all the congregation grumble against him by bringing up a bad report about the land. 37.the men who brought up a bad report of the land—died by plague before the Lord. 38.Of those men who went to spy out the land, only Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh remained alive. 39.When Moses told these words to all the people of Israel, the people mourned greatly. 40.And they rose early in the morning and went up to the heights of the hill country, saying, “Here we are. We will go up to the place that the Lord has promised, for we have sinned.” 41.But Moses said, “Why now are you transgressing the command of the Lord, when that will not succeed? 42.Do not go up, for the Lord is not among you, lest you be struck down before your enemies. 43.For there the Amalekites and the Canaanites are facing you, and you shall fall by the sword. Because you have turned back from following the Lord, the Lord will not be with you.” 44.But they presumed to go up to the heights of the hill country, although neither the ark of the covenant of the Lord nor Moses departed out of the camp. 45.Then the Amalekites and the Canaanites who lived in that hill country came down and defeated them and pursued them, even to Hormah - Numbers 14:36-45

To teach us that we cannot triumph by our own strength in the battle against the hosts of evil spirits in the heavenly realms—but can indeed prevail if we rely on the Lord—Moses, during the battle against the Amalekites at Rephidim, stood upon the hill with his hands outstretched, reflecting the image of the Cross; witnessing this, the people of Israel achieved victory - 8.Then Amalek came and fought with Israel at Rephidim. 9.So Moses said to Joshua, “Choose for us men, and go out and fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the staff of God in my hand.” 10.So Joshua did as Moses told him, and fought with Amalek, while Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. 11.Whenever Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed, and whenever he lowered his hand, Amalek prevailed - Exodus 17:8-11

However, our Savior Jesus Christ is not merely the Word; the Father—the God of heaven—and the Holy Spirit dwelt within Him. Thus, our Lord is the God of Trinity; this truth is illustrated by the fact that two men, Aaron and Hur, stood alongside Moses - 12.But Moses' hands grew weary, so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it, while Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side. So his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. 13.And Joshua overwhelmed Amalek and his people with the sword. 14.Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write this as a memorial in a book and recite it in the ears of Joshua, that I will utterly blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven.” 15.And Moses built an altar and called the name of it, The Lord Is My Banner, 16.saying, “A hand upon the throne[a] of the Lord! The Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation - Exodus 17:12-16

When the Israelites, standing on the battlefield of Rephidim, looked toward the mountain, they would have indeed perceived the Savior who intercedes for us as a Trinity; regarding this, the Apostle John noted that the Triune God—the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit—were present in Christ Jesus as water, blood, and the Spirit - 8.and there are three who are testifying in the earth: the Spirit [Holy Spirit], and the water [Word], and the blood [Father] and the three are into the one. 9.If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater, for this is the testimony of God that he has borne concerning his Son - I John 5:8-9


Lord, Lord, Lord

When Moses want to know about the Son of God, He prayed to God and said metaphorically "Show me your glory" -  18.Moses said, “Please show me your glory.” 19.And he said, “I will make all my goodness pass before you and will proclaim before you my name ‘The Lord.’ And I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy. 20.But,” he said, “you cannot see my face, for man shall not see me and live.” 21.And the Lord said, “Behold, there is a place by me where you shall stand on the rock, 22.and while my glory passes by I will put you in a cleft of the rock, and I will cover you with my hand until I have passed by. 23.Then I will take away my hand, and you shall see my back, but my face shall not be seen.” - Exodus 33:18-23

So, when the Lord descended in the cloud, why did he called "The Lord, The Lord"? - 5.The Lord descended in the cloud and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the Lord. 6.The Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, 7.keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children's children, to the third and the fourth generation.” 8.And Moses quickly bowed his head toward the earth and worshiped. 9.And he said, “If now I have found favor in your sight, O Lord, please let the Lord go in the midst of us, for it is a stiff-necked people, and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance.” 10.And he said, “Behold, I am making a covenant. Before all your people I will do marvels, such as have not been created in all the earth or in any nation. And all the people among whom you are shall see the work of the Lord, for it is an awesome thing that I will do with you - Exodus 34:6-10

First of all the Lord called "The Lord, The Lord", to explain His trinity, that our Lord Jesus Christ is the personification of the invisible God - the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit.

When the rain falls the clouds are still there, like that the Word [Second person in the God of Trinity] sent his Son as Jesus Christ, the Word was still in heaven, and in Jesus Christ, the son of Father, and the son of Holy Spirit also dwelled, that was the reason, the Son of God proclaimed Lord Lord, to explain that He is not alone, there are two more persons with him.
